Fitness Club is for students in grades 1-5 who are interested in getting fit and making friends while building endurance to run a 5K! Students in grades 3-5 meet in September while students in grades 1-5 meet in March and April for an hour after school.
Students will learn a number of skills that will enhance not only their running but also personal health. Some of these skills are: proper stretching, setting goals, pacing, teamwork, types of shoes and clothing to wear,yoga, jump ropes, hula hoops, and team sports!. All activities are supervised by a qualified person as well as volunteers.
Fitness can be a way of helping students achieve many things beyond the scope of just exercising!
